Seattle
Seattle pickleball is a four-season operation. Bellevue, Redmond, and Sammamish handle the bulk of the suburban public play (Eastgate, Crossroads, Idylwood). Seattle proper leans heavier on indoor and covered courts because of the rain: Picklewood, Magnuson Park's covered tennis, and the Boys & Girls Clubs that converted gym time to pickleball.
When the sun shows up (May to September), the outdoor lines at Genesee, Gas Works, and Ballard fill out by 6 a.m. Tacoma and Olympia have surprisingly good public-court coverage and shorter waits. Most outdoor courts here are unlit, and Pacific Northwest dusk is early in winter, so plan accordingly.
The crowd is polite, technical, and quick to debate paddle weight. Bring layers.
