Phoenix and the East Valley might have more pickleball courts per capita than any metro in the country. Scottsdale alone is a network of dedicated outdoor complexes (Pinnacle Peak, Eldorado, Indian School). Mesa, Tempe, Gilbert, and Chandler each have multiple high-quality public stacks of courts. Sun City and Sun Lakes are full pickleball ecosystems on their own.

The summer heat is real. Most local players run 5 a.m. to 9 a.m., then again after sunset on lit courts. The big indoor clubs (Bell Bank Pickleball, The Pickleball Space, Picklemania) are full year-round but especially packed June-September. Snowbird season (November-March) bumps demand by 30%, so book ahead in winter.
